Celebrating our History

Every summer, Pawleys Island celebrates the handcrafted icon born right here on our shores. Join us at The Hammock Shops Village for a free, full-day celebration of Lowcountry music, food, and family fun—set beneath the live oaks where the Pawleys Island hammock-weaving tradition has thrived for generations. Whether you come for the live music, the food trucks, or the chance to win a handwoven hammock of your own, National Hammock Day is a day made for slowing down.

What to Expect

  • Live Music

    The Tams and the 14kt Gold Band take the stage from 2–5 PM. Bring your own chair and settle in for an afternoon of beach music and soul.

  • Food Trucks

    A rotating lineup of local food trucks serving up Lowcountry favorites all day long.

  • Beer Garden

    Grab a cold one and toast to summer in our pop-up beer garden.

  • Kid's Activities

    A bouncy castle, face painting, cornhole, and more to keep the little ones busy.

  • Prize Giveaways

    Enter to win an Original Pawleys Island Hammock and other Hammock Coast prizes.

  • Free Swag

    Snag free Hammock Coast swag, including caps, while supplies last.

Live Music

The Tams and the 14kt Gold Band bring the beach-music and soul sound that defines a Carolina summer. Music runs from 2 to 5 PM on the village green—bring a chair, find a shady spot, and stay a while.
